| Howdy,
Rats! Update 11/26/08 You did a great job at the mall on Sunday. It was a terrific start to our holiday season. It is remarkable to me how far you have come in a few short weeks of playing these instruments and these tunes. You should be very, very proud. 1 Practice

keep in mind:
Dress is tan pants or shorts with Rats shirts or Hawaiian shirts, according to directions. (If it's cold, you may certainly put a layer underneath. White long sleeve shirts work well for this.) Casual shoes and flip flops are fine, as long as they are in good shape. Plan on arriving an hour before show time. (20 Minutes for Jumbie Jams) We need your help loading, unloading, and setting up. Parents are currently being asked to do too much. Pitch in! Talk later. Keep food and drinks off the stage. They should not be visible at any time during the performance. Likewise gum, and hats unless they are part of your Caribbean style. Know what tune is next, and pay attention to on stage announcements. Sometimes things have to change on the spot. Know when you are up, and be ready just off stage. When food is available, we perform and load out first, THEN, if invited,we can eat. Please plan accordingly. You CAN have fun! WE LOVE DANCERS! The greatest thing is watching each of our groups support the others. Unless otherwise directed, dancing is absolutely OK! It tells our audience it's ok to have a good time. And performers - the choreography is always IN! Thank you. Now, keep an eye on this page for directions, updates, and heaping piles of praise for your remarkable efforts and great performances. Dan |
